The following page has some useful information about Mamewah and how to run certain programs from within Mamewah.

Information is provided for:

Executable Settings:

The following are the basic Mamewah Executable settings for the most common Emulators.  These are just a good guide as to what settings I found to most compatible and are not the only settings that will work.

I have also provided a sample Config File for each emulator.  This file is meant as a guide to what settings you need to get each to run.  ** DO NOT just download the config file and put it in your Files directory as it will not work!

Launching Videos using Windows Media Player:

Update:

To get this to work in WinXP with the latest version of Mamewah, you'll need to makesure you specify only one type of file extension in Mamewah.  ie." ROM Extension = mpg "  Using * will not work.  You should be able to rename all movie files to .mpg without media player worrying. (ie rename .avi to .mpg etc..)

Would you like to have your favourite videos playable via Mamewah?  Well it's easy to do using Windows Media Player!  Follow the easy steps below to achieve this.

Step 1:  Put all your videos in a single directory.  These can be any file playable with Media player, including .mpg, .avi, .wmv etc.

Step 2:  Create a batch file that launches Media Player

Open Notepad and write the following:

@echo off
start mplayer2.exe /play /fullscreen /close "%1"

Save this as "vidplayer.bat" in the directory you saved your video files. (or any other directory, it really doesn't matter!)

Step 3:  Point to them in the list and away you go!

In Mamewah, set up a new emulator config file with the following options.

Emulator Executable = C:\Videos\Launcher\vidplayer.bat     => path to the batch file

Send ROM Path = True
Use Long Filenames = False
Send ROM Extension = True

ROM Path = C:\Videos\Music Videos   => path to your video directory
ROM Extension = *
=> Set as * to list all the videos in the directory

If all goes to plan, you should now have a nice list of videos in Mamewah which when executed will play in Windows Media Player full screen, then once finished close and return to Mamewah!

Child Lock in Mamewah.

There is a built in "child lock" type feature in Mamewah which enables you to lock out the menu.  To stop the menu from being able to be launched, simply hold down "Player2 start" button for 3 seconds.  Now you can let your kids play without being able to access the menu!

To turn the menu back on, simply hold down "Player2 start" for 3 seconds again.
